Custom 1.5C Symphonic / Pops Trumpet Mouthpiece, Made by Kanstul

This is a custom trumpet mouthpiece made for Canadian virtuoso Mark D'Angelo. Mark is currently principal trumpet in the Kamloops Symphony, and second trumpet with the Vancouver Island Symphony. He has also performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver New Music, Victoria Symphony, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, CBC Radio Orchestra, Thunder Bay Symphony, Plastic Acid Orchestra and the American Brass Quintet. Mark has performed with Ben Hepner, Tony Award winner Idena Menzel, Ashley MacIsaac, and can be heard on Hedley’s Double Platinum Juno nominated album “The Show Must Go”. He performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics with Mariachi Los Dorados as well as performing with them at the International Mariachi Festival in Guadalajara four times! In 2017 Mark premiered John Estacios Concerto for Trumpet with the Kamloops Symphony. Mark has numerous recording credits as well, having worked with with Rita Chiarelli, the Whiskeydicks, Corbin Murdoch & the Nautical Miles, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada to name a few. Mark currently teaches trumpet at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC. Young cat, fabulous player!
Working closely with our custom mouthpiece maker at Kanstul, Mark had us make for him a dream 1 1/2C mouthpiece, blending a rim he liked from one to a cup he liked from another. His choice of backbore was the Bach symphonic backbore, and the throat is a larger # 24. Big, bold sound, clean articulation, excellent intonation. If you are looking for a dream 1 1/2C mouthpiece, this might be it!
